"I just got your Gypsy Bellydance DVD and it is wonderful! This is just what I needed to add variety and spice to my dance style. This DVD is perfect for an intermediate or advanced dancer. I am impressed with the layout of the DVD also. I seem to learn well from just watching and following along with a video instead of stopping and counting each step etc... which can get very boring and I lose interest quickly. I also enjoyed the way you put certain dance techniques in sections. If I just want to concentrate on arms or using geometry in steps thats what I watch. Hi Mesmera!! Just this morning I recieved the instructional Gypsy video I ordered. I was simply struct by it's content. I have just recently decided to learn gypsy style bellydance. I have seen some performances and became interested mostly because I love to spin and there was a lot of spinning. But never had I seen so much passion and emotion. I also love the technique you use for teaching. Most teachers teach very mechanical, step by step, but you teach the ENTIRE movements, the attitude, the emotion. You show the student/dancer how powerful their movements can be and how to express it. I think that is the hardest part for students is being told to smile, make it your own, and struggling to know what that means. You show them that. Trust me when I say this is not a video that will sit and collect dust. I just recieved it this morning and have gone through it 3 times already today. Loads of thanks!!!! -D.

Hi, Kristen ! It's all been worth it to have a DVD of Mez in Africa, instead of the tape. Now I can instantly go to her dancing with the stampeding herd of wildebeests in the background, and her silhouette against the setting sun and clouds, and feel one with Nature. Mesmera is consciousness-expanding. ! :-) I bet you feel lucky to work for her. -J.

I write in hopes that this lil'love letter of mine will make it to Mesmera. I wanted to thank you for all your efforts and study in belly dance. I've always been a fan, and I've spent a good deal of my time tring to dance more like you. Both your solo work and choreography is an inspiration. I had the honor of dancing for you this year at the Belly Dancer of the Universe (fusion)... to date, one of the most exciting movements in my life... the cherry on top; placing and knowning that all my efforts were appricated by you too (my heart still flutters). Thank you for being there and the encouragment you inadvertantly gave me. I wanted to tell you all this myself at the event, but I couldn't find you... and I probably would have barely been able to mutter "Goddess, I adore you"! peace and love, M.

		"As the sky could no longer hold back the energy of the impending storm, I could not hold back the intensity of emotion that overcame me as I rushed out of the Mesa Women's Center this afternoon. The rainstorm met and blended with my own tears -- tears of nostalgic longing, of deepest gratitude, and appreciation. I'm sure you remember how queit and shy I tend to be... I just feel compelled again to tell you how important your touch and presence has been and continues to be in my life. I feel I'd be lost, empty and hungry in my soul if it were not for the dance, and you gave me the courage to explore it, to embrace it, and finally to express it. Today's workshop was so fabulous. I am reminded of how your unique, loving, inspiring and nurturing teaching style has encouraged so many women to feel empowered and to get in touch with wha is sacred, beautiful and magical within themselves and to find the freedom and confidence to express it.
I wrote my Anthropology thesis at UCLA on (get ready for a dry academic title ...): Belly Dance as Transformative Healing and Empowerment." I interviewed a number of your past students for that paper - so I know I am not alone in my sentiment, nor in the life changing impact you and the dance has had. The dance is itself conducive to tranformation, healing and empowerment - but, I have studied with many teachers now and not all, beleive me, have the gift that you do. You are truly blessed with this gift, as we are blessed to receive it. You are also still the most beautiful, articulate, passionate and inspiring dancer I have seen."
Dear Mesmera - I just wanted to thank you for allowing me to take part in your class today - even as I arrived late. I am very grateful to be able to learn from you. #1 You have very good technique - but you also have such a grace and presence and patience. #2 You are very good at honing on areas that need to be worked on - in a very nice gentle positive manner. You're a very good leader. I look forward to taking your classes very much - though I don't say it as often as I should. It's such a good thing for women to share such a beautiful art. As you might guess I come from a very conservative background - so all these move are quite new for my body - even after one year - but I think I will become a very nice butterfly in the end - thanks to your guidence . As always, I feel the true gift is finding your wonderful dance class and all of the lovely ladies that attend with me. It has opened a level of creativity and self-expression for me that I would not have missed for anything. I have always had an interesting life, yet after attending your class for almost three years now I realize that I most certainly arrived at your doorstep "more dead than alive". To have that missing life force return to me, especially as I am about to enter my 50s, is such an unexpected blessing and I am TRULY grateful. I took your class in Sommerset N.J.at the Belly dance festival. I was so impressed with you! Your style is so beautiful and not the SAME like most of the dancers just find a few buz movements to do the same music. You are beautiful and captivating in your expressions!! I purchased your gypsy dance video and just love it! I love horses ... your horse is beautiful and I know he loves you dearly the way he lets you dance around him! What fantastic creatures they are!
